I can’t directly answer this question, however I understand that it involves digging one metre of soil off your garden, laying down a continuous plastic pioe and bringing the 2 ends into the house where they enter a box about the size of a large chest freezer.
Operated by electricity, it pumps water around the pipe back to the house where there is a heat exchanger.
    Soil is obviously returned.
It means that you save 20%
I have also been informed that it is a severe hassle and not worth the upset.
You also have to have oil or gas as a back up.

i install GEO COMFORT geo systems. there cool. we sell units that will heat and cool your house and heat the hot water. the upfront cost is high $10000-$15000 but that is paid back in energy savings in like ten years….yes they are really that cheap to operate.
there are several different ways to do them now…look up geocomfort on the net
feel free to email me and ill send you a DVD on them

This is the most earth friendly heating and cooling system on the market. No back up heating is needed. Even here in michigan it will heat your home. But a large amount of land is needed. It is also lower cost than gas or oil heat. and it cools in the summer. The big downside is the initial installation price is very high.
